ANTHEM,
Book 3 of the Sixties Trilogy, publishes on October 1. Each of the
book's 47 chapters begins with a song from the Sixties to set the tone,
mood, and scene. Every day between now and October 1, come have a listen
and read a snippet from each chapter.

Chapter 4: Negotiations begin. Or not.
I have to tell you I loved the idea of including so many snippets of history in the two other books in this series. I thought that was so innovative. However, the idea of the songs is so forward thinking. The children of the future will be reading books digitally and interacting with them. You are seeing the future before the rest of the world is. We are so behind in thinking of the future. I love history and my home shows my love of holding on to treasures, but the world is ever changing and I think you are paving the way for future authors. Love this idea and of course the music is taking me back.

There are playlists for COUNTDOWN and REVOLUTION as well (you can find them at my Pinterest page, and eventually we'll have Spotify playlists for them as well), but you are right, music is front-and-center in ANTHEM. For one thing, we finally HAVE music -- rock and roll, anyway. It was scarce for 1962 and 1964. Also, in ANTHEM, Norman is a budding drummer and he and Molly make stops at music studios along the way on their trip... so this was a way for me to highlight the music as well. Thanks so much for your kind remarks. I have long wanted to include music for auditory learners, just as the scrapbooks provided context and a place to engage for visual learners. Something like that. It's how we live, isn't it? All the messy glory, all together. Happy reading!
